  1. Your art is incredible, namely the symbols. Do use Painter to illustrate your art?

    1. Thanks, Mark! I pretty much use Photoshop exclusively. Occasionally I will play around in Painter or Manga Studio. But usually I stick with Photoshop.

  2. Wow! I'll have to work more with .psd brushes more. Thought for sure you use Painter. Have you ever recorded a video showing your method? I learn a lot from others on YouTube, techniques etc. I'm creating games now, symbols, themes for slots. Want to get a more illustrated look as opposed to the 3d Blender style I've been doing. Have you created your own set of brushes in .psd that a guy like me could use:) Anyway, your work and style is incredible.

    1. Thanks a ton for the kind words, Mark! I've never recorded any tutorials or anything. I'm just feeling around and trying to grow myself. There are lots of great resources out there though. Check GumRoad for tutorials. They're cheap and there are tons! I did a write up a couple years on the blog where I break down my process a bit but it's mostly reading. And it's old but a lot of it still holds true for the most part. That might be helpful.

I use an assortment of brushes but generally stick with the hard and soft round that comes standard in Photoshop. I've not created any of my own either really. I do occasionally use other textured brushes though. Here are some handy sites where I've found some gems.

Best of luck to you on your artistic journey! And thanks for following my work!

    1. Hi! Thanks for the compliment! I currently work full time as a lead at a game development studio. I sometimes take on freelance projects but generally my day job takes up quite a bit of my work time.
